Frequently Asked Questions

Who can I help?

I work with adults and individuals.

Are the therpay sessions confidential?

Yes, all therapy sessions are confidential. In exceptional circumstances I might feel the need to talk to another health professional, if I had a serious concern about your safety or the safety of someone else. I would always aim to discuss this with you before disclosing any information.

What therapy approaches do I use?

I use a range of therapeutic approaches and tools in order to help you to explore your issues in the most effective way. Depending on your needs, I will draw on the following approaches in order to provide you with a bespoke therapy:

  • Person-centred Therapy
  • Integrative Therapy
  • Psychodynamic Therapy
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - CBT
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Social Action Psychotherapy
  • Intercultural Therapy
  • Walking and Talking in Nature

What can you expect from Therapy?

In your introductory consultation, I will encourage you to explore what has brought you to therapy at this time in your life and to think about what you hope to achieve or change by having therapy. This initial meeting can provide an important opportunity to decide if a talking therapy is the best option for you and if I am the best therapist to meet your needs.

If we decide to work together, I will invite and help you to share your concerns and to express your feelings in our weekly sessions which take place at the same day and time. In our first session we will discuss and agree the number of sessions that are best for you. I would normally review this arrangement with you after 3-6 sessions. After 6 sessions you may feel better and achieved your aims. Or you might decide that more sessions would be beneficial. The decision to stop or continue will be yours. It will also be your choice what you choose to share in therapy sessions.

During the therapy sessions I will listen without judgement and share some of my thoughts and feelings with you. We will work together and my role will be to support you to find deeper insight and fresh understanding of your situation and the things that are important to you, so that you are better able to find solutions to difficult situations and to begin to change things that you are not happy with.

Why do I offer telephone and online therapy?

Some people may find if difficult to attend therapy session in person for various reasons which might include: physical health issues, mobility difficulties, anxiety and agoraphobia, or if you are working or living outside of London or internationally. Telephone or online therapy can be a way of getting the assistance that you need. As long as you have a telephone line or access to the internet and a private place to talk. I am able to offer online therpay via the following platforms: FaceTime, Microsoft Teams, Skype, WhatsApp, Zoom.
